Aquarion Water Company, a subsidiary of Eversource, is the public water supply company for approximately 236,000 customer accounts or more than 750,000 people in 72 cities and towns in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We are the largest investor-owned water utility in New England and are among the seven largest in the U.S. Based in Bridgeport, CT, we've been in the public water supply business since 1857, and each of our approximately 346 employees throughout New England is proud to have the opportunity to deliver the highest quality product and services to our customers.

Company Officers

Donald J. Morrissey

President, Aquarion Company and Subsidiaries

Donald J. Morrissey was appointed President of Aquarion Company in January of 2020. Aquarion Company's principal business is public water supply and through its Aquarion Water Company subsidiaries, it is one of the 7 largest investor-owned water utilities in the U.S. serving the northeastern States of Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Aquarion is a subsidiary of Eversource.

Mr. Morrissey joined the company in 1995 and progressed through numerous financial positions of increasing responsibility, including Chief Financial Officer. Before joining Aquarion, Mr. Morrissey was Manager of Financial Reporting at Reader’s Digest after spending five years at Arthur Andersen. A graduate of New York University’s Stern School of Business, Mr. Morrissey holds a Masters in Business Administration in Finance and International Business, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Program. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut. A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Morrissey is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Mr. Morrissey serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Water Companies. He is also a board member of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council and the Newtown Forest Association, the oldest private land trust in Connecticut.

Lucy Teixeira

Vice President, Customer & Administrative Services

Lucy Teixeira is currently the Vice President of Customer & Administrative Services for Aquarion Water Company. Lucy is responsible for all aspects of Human Resources, Customer Services, Information Technology and Corporate Communications.

Her experience in the Human Resources includes employee engagement, compensation & benefits, talent management and recruitment, collective bargaining, strategic planning, occupational health and safety as well as HR technology. Her responsibilities in the Customer Services function include call center management, billing, collections, field services and meter reading. Her IT responsibilities include planning, implementation, and operation of the enterprise-wide IT environment in support of business strategy and operations. She is also responsible for the Corporate Communications function, which includes community and legislative relations.

Lucy is currently the Chairman of the Board for the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County, and chairs the credentialing committee for the Hartford Health Care Fairfield Region (St Vincent’s Medical Center). Lucy is a graduate of Fairfield University where she attained a bachelor’s of science degree in Accounting. She’s also a 2016 graduate of the Advanced Management Program from Wharton School of Business.

John Walsh, P.E.

Vice President of Operations & Utility Innovation

John Walsh is Aquarion’s Vice President of Operations & Utility Innovation. He leads the company’s operations in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and water quality functions company-wide, ensuring the provision of safe, high-quality water to more than 750,000 people in 72 cities and towns in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

John is also leading Aquarion’s program to adopt new and strategically innovative systems and approaches to increase value to utility customers and stakeholders, including by improving product quality, enhancing resiliency and reliability, increasing productivity, and reducing costs.

Prior to his current role, John was Aquarion’s Vice President of Operations, a role in which he was responsible for all aspects of the company’s operations including engineering, planning, operations, and maintenance. His earlier experience at Aquarion includes managing the company’s planning, engineering, and construction activities, as well as directing the operation of the company’s production and pumping facilities. John’s experience includes working for engineering consulting firms in California and the Northeast US.

John earned an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business, as well as an MS in Environmental Engineering and a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. He is a licensed professional engineer in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and California.


Dan Lawrence

Daniel Lawrence, P.E.

Vice President, Engineering, Planning and Real Estate

Dan is Vice President of Engineering, Planning and Real Estate for Aquarion Water Company’s Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire water systems which includes 9 surface water treatment plants, 328 groundwater wells, 101 pumping stations, 31 dams, 3,560 miles of water main, 74 water storage tanks, and other related infrastructure.

Dan joined Aquarion in 2014 as Director of Engineering and Planning. Prior to joining Aquarion, he worked in the consulting field for Blasland, Bouck & Lee (Arcadis), Metcalf & Eddy (AECOM), and Weston & Sampson gaining experience in a wide variety of infrastructure and other related projects including dam rehabilitation; stream restoration; hazardous waste remediation within streams, lakes, and rivers; small and large drainage systems; small bridges; sidewalk and overall roadway improvements; permitting for infrastructure, remediation, and restoration projects; water infrastructure planning, design and construction; and wastewater planning, design, and construction.

Dan is a licensed Professional Engineer in Connecticut with 28 years of experience and has a B.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Environmental Engineering from the University of Massachusetts. He has worked in numerous states including Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont. He is part of the Lead Service Collaborative, AWWA, NAWC, CWWA, as well as other organizations. Dan is the Co-Chair of the Western Utility Coordinating Committee (WUCC) in Connecticut and a member of the Water Planning Council Advisory Group.


Jeff Ulrich

Jeff Ulrich, P.E.

Vice President, Supply and Sustainability

Jeff Ulrich has worked in the water industry for over 30 years. As Aquarion Water Company’s Vice President of Supply and Sustainability, he oversees 85 people that produce drinking water for over 625,000 people in Connecticut. The department operates 23 reservoirs, 9 water treatment plants, 101 pump stations, 328 wells, and 74 water storage tanks.

Jeff joined Aquarion in 2014 as Director of Supply Operations. He has the unique perspective of having worked for a water company, consulting engineer, and contractor. Jeff worked as a consultant for Metcalf & Eddy (now AECOM) and Gannett Fleming, and for Elizabethtown Water Company in the Engineering, Transmission, and Distribution and Construction departments as the company transitioned through Thames Water and New Jersey American Water.

Jeff received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Villanova University and Masters of Science from Rutgers University. He is a licensed professional engineer.
