Bridgeport, CONN. July 26, 2024 – Aquarion Water Company and parent company Eversource Energy today announced that Donald J. (Don) Morrissey will retire as President on December 31, 2024, and that current Vice President of Customer & Administrative Services Lucy Teixeira will succeed him as President effective January 1, 2025.
President of Aquarion for the last five years, Morrissey’s retirement caps a distinguished three-decade career with the company focused on serving customers – exemplified by superior customer service satisfaction ratings and the reliable delivery of a quality product. Under his leadership, Aquarion successfully increased its customer base, completed the company’s two largest transactions since 2002, as well as the first privatization of a wastewater system in New England – which was also the first in Aquarion’s nearly 170-year history. A well-respected business and industry leader, he also serves as a board member for the National Association of Water Companies and the Bridgeport Regional Business Council.

Lucy Teixeira has been the Vice President of Customer & Administrative Services at Aquarion since 2012. Throughout her 34-year career with the company, Teixeira has developed extensive leadership experience across multiple functions, including human resources, customer service, information technology, corporate communications.
She earned an advanced management degree from Wharton School of Business, as well as a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Fairfield University. She currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Fairfield Region Board of Hartford HealthCare, past Chair of the Credentialing Committee for Fairfield Region Board of Hartford HealthCare, and past Chairman of the Board of the United Way of Eastern Fairfield County.

Teixeira lives in Trumbull, CT with her husband Fred. She has three children.
